Working well at home, "Connie", is a well bred French Mare who was bought cheaply at Doncastor and Ran four times last season starting off at Wincanton finishing fourth over a sharp two miles and her third run was at Ascot in a hot Novice once again a close 7th.Connie has had awind operation over the summer and is back in full work , she is owned by Kay Russell and Tim Seegar.
New to the yard, "Pete", owned by Tim Seegar and Don Hazzard, is a fabulous individual and we are all looking forward to seeing him run later this month. He has run well at Wincanton and is likely to run at Wincanton's next meeting.
Aptly named for the current economic climate, "Perky", owned by Kay Russell, is a fine dark bay filly and is also new to the yard. Her debut run was at Fontwell, in a mare's only bumper, where she was unplaced. This was disappointing but was consistant with the general performance of the yard, which at the time had some of its horses testing positive for a type of virus.
Showing renewed form, she is entered for the mare's only bumper at the next meeting at Taunton.
The great "Cellie" has yet to show us the form shown in Ireland having been second in a grade 2 hurdle. He has taken a long time to recover from a bad bout of colic that he had before coming to us.
Now being ridden out by Theo Gillard, oldest son of Mark, Cellie is showing enthusiasm and strength and will either be appearing in the 2m awt at Lingfield or in the 2m handicap at the next meeting at Chepstow.
Jaspar is now owned by David Herbert and is coming back into work for a campaign on the all weather in the next couple of months.
Ice Hunter,Half a Tsar, Pretty Selma and Lucky in Love are enjoying their new career - happily playing polo with the Ascot Park Polo Club.
